Getting to Know Alex

Alex Jaffe’s love for real estate began during a few major cross country moves spanning the past 20 years. After living in the suburbs of New York City, one day he unexpectedly packed up, hit the road and moved to beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada. After years of appreciating the laid back lifestyle and gorgeous landscape, the desire for a faster pace was too much to bear and he hit the road again. This time to Hollywood, Ca. He lived right smack in the hustle and bustle of the star infused community and rented a condo blocks away from the famous Melrose Avenue and the Sunset Strip. Although his landscaped rooftop deck overlooked the Hollywood sign, and the location was as exciting as can be, it only took one year for him to realize that the hype of Los Angeles wasn’t his speed.

Down to San Diego he went. Alex found a one bedroom house with a garage blocks away from the beach and never looked back. It’s in this house where his love for real estate solidified. Having extreme appreciation for his home, it’s location, and the San Diego way of life, Jaffe developed an eye for noticing cool properties like his. Despite happiness living by the beach, a job opportunity closer to family in New York sent him packing one last time. Or so he thought. Happily living by family on the East Coast Alex pictured life there forever. It wasn’t until a vacation in Austin Texas did he realize there was a city that seemed to have it all.

In 2009, after a few back and fourths to Austin, it was obvious he was going to relocate once again. He moved into a two bedroom house in Central Austin and began to familiarize himself with the city at lightspeed. He’d travel by car, foot and bike to all the major events and festivals around town, all the while taking note of every neighborhood he passed through. There came a time when Alex made a decision to enter his Real Estate career full time. From his experience living in such various places he was able to recognize his deep appreciation for Austin and all what it had to offer, so he sought out to help others find their own piece of his favorite city.

He describes Austin as being similar to what a city would look like if he and a bunch of his friends got together and started a city. “It has something for everyone. Every subdivision has it’s individual personality. Helping someone find their next home in the growing city is something I take great pride in.” ​
